Chris Broussard Blasts Ryan Fitzpatrick For Public Remarks on Being Benched

Ryan Fitzpatrick on being benched in favor of rookie Tua Tagovailoa: "I was shocked by it. It definitely caught me off guard. It was a hard thing for me to hear yesterday, just digesting the news. My heart just hurt all day. I felt like it was my team. I basically got fired yesterday, and my day today consisted of Zoom meetings with the guy who fired me and sitting in a room with the guy who replaced me for four hours.”

Chris Broussard: “I got two words for Ryan Fitzpatrick… STOOOOOP ITTTTT! Are you NUTS?? I get everyone wants to play, and everyone wants to start, and I have no problem with you being disappointed and hurt inside. But publicly?? Dude, you need to support Tua. That’s what you’re there for. You’re NOT Tom Brady. You’re NOT Tony Romo. You’re NOT Aaron Rodgers. You’re a journeyman who has been on eight teams. You were brought in as a stop-gap. ‘YOUR TEAM’?? You even said it yourself that it was going to happen sooner or later. They’re playing well and it’s time for Tua to get in there. What you need to do is support him. You can say ‘hey, of course I’m disappointed, but Tua has a great future, and I’m excited to see what he can do, and I’m going to help him any way I can.’ THAT’S what he should have said. We know you were about to fall off. You were 3-3 and talking like you’re throwing the ball like Russell Wilson. You had two interceptions in your last game, and if it was against anybody else other than the hapless New York Jets, you would have had to PAY for those interceptions. So don’t act like you were lighting the league on fire cause your team is .500… This is out of line.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Chris Broussard blast Ryan Fitzpatrick for going public with his misgivings concerning the 3-3 Dolphins electing to bench Fitzpatrick in place for rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, as Chris said he doesn’t know why a stopgap journeyman like Fitzpatrick is acting like it was ‘HIS’ team.

Check out the segment above as Broussard details why Fitzpatrick is ultimately hurting Tua’s progression, and why he was stunned that a primarily career backup like Fitzpatrick is acting like he’s Russell Wilson and bound for the Super Bowl if he's given a chance to continue.
