There has been a reported conversation between Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his former Hall of Fame cornerback and current Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders about the open head coaching position with the Cowboys and Doug thinks it was more of a courtesy call than anything truly meaningful. He just can’t see a world where Jerry ditches Dak Prescott and wastes a draft pick on Shedeur Sanders.
Doug Gottlieb: “Just a guess, it’s one of those courtesy calls where you flesh out ideas and flesh out thoughts knowing at the end of the call it’s not really going to work. Would it be interesting? Sure! Do I think Deion could do it? Yeah, of course...The problem is there’s just no way in which you coach your son. I don’t think you can coach your son even if Dak Prescott doesn’t exist, and with Dak Prescott there it just doesn’t happen.”
