China Fallout Will Forever Damage LeBron James' Legacy

Los Angeles Lakers v Brooklyn Nets - NBA China Games 2019
Chris Broussard: “Is LeBron James’ image irreparably damaged?”
Rob Parker: “I don’t know about his image, but his voice has been weakened and it will be hard to rally around LeBron on social issues. When LeBron wants to speak out against something people will look at it and roll their eyes and say ‘I guess there’s no money at stake on this one.'" (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Rob Parker and Chris Broussard discuss LeBron James’ botching of the Daryl Morey/China saga that ignited one of the most scandalous PR firestorms in NBA history.

LBJ has always doubled as one of the era’s most progressive sports advocates, but went completely limp during an incredibly unexpected interview Tuesday that called out the Rockets GM for tweeting support for the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

Not only did LeBron call Morey ‘misinformed’ and ‘not educated’ on a geopolitical topic that even LeBron himself admitted he wasn’t very well versed on, but then he would dig himself a much deeper grave on Twitter when he made a tweet complaining how tough of a week he and his teammates had in China –– which seemed monumentally tone-deaf considering millions of Chinese face some of the most dire human conditions on earth.

Check out the audio below as Parker says the impact of LeBron’s ‘voice’ will be forever diluted, considering LeBron refused to endorse a massive social justice talking point simply because his shoe sales were more important.
