NBA Should Ban James Dolan For Life Like They Did to Donald Sterling

NBA Should Ban James Dolan For Life Like They Did to Donald Sterling
Jason Smith: “I wonder if this is going to be the final straw because I don’t know if James Dolan can own the Knicks after this story gets out… You need to show your players, the NBA, and the world that what happened to George Floyd wasn’t right. What did Charles Barkley say when the whole thing came up with Donald Sterling? He said ‘this is a black league. You can’t talk like that’… I don’t know if you can own the Knicks after this. This is such a volatile time right now, and I wonder if Adam Silver at some point has to get involved.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Jason Smith blast New York Knicks owner James Dolan for his vague response to the killing of George Floyd while in police custody, as Dolan made news this week after emails leaked that he had sent to MSG employees that detailed why the team wasn’t making a public statement on the incident.

In the email Dolan said ‘as a company in the business of sports and entertainment, we are not any more qualified than anyone else to offer our opinion on social matters’, and appeared to be making it clear that the Knicks organization as a whole would not be coming out with a statement on Floyd’s death.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Knicks and Spurs were the only two teams who hadn’t publicly commented on Floyd, although Spurs coach Greg Popovich had been very vocal denouncing his Floyd's death.

Check out the audio above as Smith explains why he thinks Adam Silver might have to just strip Dolan’s ownership the same way they did to Donald Sterling for racists remarks he made during a privately recorded conversation.
