Ole Miss Should’ve Let Lane Kiffin Continue Coaching

Lane Kiffin made his decision to leave Ole Miss and take the LUS job and Ole Miss isn’t interested in letting him finish out the rest of the season despite a looming College Football Playoff bid. While it may seem prudent to send Kiffin on his way to minimize the disruption created by his departure, Doug thinks letting him remain at the helm would have been the best thing for the student athletes and their chances to win a National Championship.

Doug Gottlieb: “I absolutely think he should have been allowed to coach his team. Again, if nothing else, it gives Ole Miss the best chance to win. And the likelihood of Ole Miss being in this position anytime in the next 10 years, 15 years, is not strong. He’s got a chance to win a National Championship, let the coach win a National Championship, and if he wants to leave, he can leave. Don't think it's that hard. He's still going to recruit players off your roster.”
