Clay Travis Predicts NFL Will Suspend Antonio Brown the Rest of the Season

New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins
Clay Travis: “I think there are two paths Roger Goodell will have to follow when he gets this investigative report. Path one is going to say ‘yes, we believe Antonio Brown behaved inappropriately and we find her story to be credible.' If that occurs, what in the world does Goodell do? If you suspend him six games for rape then everyone out there is going to say ‘OMG, Tom Brady got 4 games for deflating a football, and Antonio Brown got 6 games for rape!’ That’s an awful look for the NFL. The other option is saying they don’t think the woman’s story is credible and that they think this was a consensual relationship. What do you do then? Because then you’re not believing the woman, and the NFL, criticized for the way its responded to domestic violence, is now taking the side of a star athlete. This is my prediction: Roger Goodell OVERSUSPENDS Antonio Brown for the rest of the year, and says ‘You’ve got to sue me in order to be able to play.’ He’s going to be so afraid of getting ‘Ray Rice-d’ and under suspending him that he’s going to go outside the scope of his authority and suspend Brown for way longer.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Clay Travis explain why he thinks NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is going to throw the book at embattled New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown is accused of raping his former trainer, as the New York Times reported graphic details about three separate incidents pertaining to sexual assault and rape involving Brown and the woman.

Brown's accuser, Britney Taylor, published a series of graphic messages in the report with Brown repeatedly calling her a 'weak b*tch', and a 'sick a** h**, and also featured Brown referencing ejaculating on her back, like her suit alleged.

In the lawsuit, the woman alleges Brown "exposed himself and kissed her without her consent" in the first incident in June of 2017. In the second incident she alleges "Later that month, Brown, while positioned behind her, began masturbating near her without her knowledge and ejaculated on her back". The women then claimed Brown a year later on May 20th, 2018, "cornered her, forced her down onto a bed, pusher her face into the mattress, and forcibly raped her."

The pending case is a federal lawsuit filed with the Southern District Court of Florida and at this time does not involve criminal charges.

Clay Travis believes Roger Goodell is going to be forced to make an example of Brown to limit the blowback he would receive for under-suspending Brown like he infamously did with former Ravens running back Ray Rice.

Clay says even a 4-6 game suspension would look bad for the NFL, considering Tom Brady got suspended four games for deflating footballs.

If Goodell chooses not to suspend Brown, it will be yet another festering PR nightmare with advocacy group claiming the NFL doesn't do enough to enforce domestic violence.
