Russell Westbrook is the Most Overrated Player in Modern NBA History

“Russell Westbrook is probably the most overrated player in the modern history of the NBA. Great individual talent, yes – he can fill in a stat sheet, but he can’t do what’s the most important thing, which is WIN in the NBA playoffs once they actually arrive.”

Despite having two of the greatest statistical seasons in the history of sports, in consecutive years no less, Clay Travis says the reputation of Russell Westbrook may be taking an unprecedented nosedive with his Thunder now down 3-1 to the anonymous Jazz in the first round of the Western Conference playoff bracket.

Westbrook is now 2-7 since the Thunder lost the heart-breaking Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference Finals to Golden State, which would also be the last time Kevin Durant would dawn an OKC uniform.

Travis says that for a guy who's statistics make him out to be this once-in-a-generation icon, years of 35-win seasons in small-market Oklahoma City with zero All-Stars willing to play alongside him could be the fate of the rest of Westbrook’s career.
